Privacy and cookies
What this site measures, only with your permission, and how to change your mind.
This is a personal project by ricardochaves, the site owner and the controller of the data described here. It has no accounts, no sign-up or contact forms and no ads. The only thing that measures visitors is Google Analytics, and it runs only if you accept it.
What is measured
If you accept, Google Analytics 4 counts visits and shows which blueprints are useful. It receives:
- the pages you open, how far you scroll, the links you follow out of the site and the blueprint files you download or copy (the file name only, never the blueprint itself);
- the search terms you use to look for blueprints;
- your approximate location (country and city, derived from your IP address, which Google Analytics does not store), your browser, operating system, screen size and language;
- the page you came from.
Nothing is sent to Google before you accept.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets two cookies on this site, but only if you accept: _ga and _ga_4RJVJBEXXY. They hold a random identifier that tells one browser from another, and they expire 13 months after your last visit. The site also remembers your choice (accepted or declined) in your browser's local storage and asks again after 13 months; without it, the question would come back on every page.
What this site does not do
Advertising features are off: no Google signals, no ad personalization and no remarketing. This site does not sell the data or use it for advertising.
Changing your mind
Use "Change my choice" at the top of this page, or "Cookie settings" in the footer, at any time. If you decline, this site's analytics cookies are deleted and nothing you do afterwards is recorded. If analytics was already running, the page reloads to stop it, and events already waiting to be sent may still go out during the reload. Declining does not delete the data already collected: it is kept for the retention period described below.
Who else receives the data
Google, as the provider of Google Analytics, processes the data for this site and may do so in the United States and other countries. Google describes its safeguards in its data processing terms. In the data-sharing settings of this site's Analytics account, the option that lets Google use the data to improve its own products and services is off; the options for modeling, technical support and recommendations are on. See Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services. The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, and GitHub may log visits to serve the pages, as described in the GitHub General Privacy Statement.
How long the data is kept
Google Analytics deletes event-level and user-level data 14 months after it was collected. Aggregated reports, which do not identify anyone, are kept.
Legal basis, your rights and contact
The legal basis is your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a); Brazilian LGPD Article 7, item I), which you can withdraw at any time. You have the rights under GDPR Articles 15 to 21 and LGPD Article 18, including access, correction, deletion, portability, objection and information about how your data is used. You can also complain to a data protection authority (in Brazil, the ANPD; in the EU, the authority in your country). The data is pseudonymous: the site owner cannot tell who a visitor is. To ask a question or exercise a right, contact ricardochaves through the GitHub profile, or open an issue at github.com/ricardochaves/factorio/issues (issues are public, so do not put personal data in them).
